Are you a cultivator looking to take your skills to the next level?
Do you want to learn more about natural farming?
We are bringing researchers and farmers from the cannabis and food industry together to discuss the newest discoveries in soil science. Good farmers will tell you they never stop learning. With science providing new insights into the soil beneath our feet, smart farmers are adding new tools to their “toolbox” and gaining a better idea of how to manage their land by using nature and the biology that make the natural system work so beautifully. Organic Cultivators is returning to Sturbridge, MA in Feb 2023 for 3 days that focus on education for growers of every skill level with talks from experienced farmers and researchers, as we dive deep into subjects you thought you understood and explore the newest discoveries in soil science and how they are being applied effectively at all scales.
Be prepared to take notes and take part of the conversation with Dr. James White and Dan Kittredge. Dan's talk will be an audience led discussion and he will take questions for 10 minutes before he even starts talking!
If you aren't familiar with Dr. James White his research on the rhizophagy cycle is cutting edge and his background in plant pathology makes him one interesting guest. He is very excited to talk with the attendees and answer questions.
Dan Kittredge is the Executive Director of the Bionutrient Food Association and has been instrumental in introducing the idea of nutrient density into the lexicon of food and health. Their work on their revolutionary meter is beyond interesting. The implications are far reaching and could forever change how we eat and view food. As a part of Dan’s day we will be visiting his family farm.
Suzanne Buglady Wainwright will be joining us again this year to talk about IPM strategy and pest identification in medicinal and market crops. She will also be putting on an exclusive workshop on the 20’th! Look for an email with a link to the workshop after you buy your tickets to the conference!
Make sure to bring your soil! Members of NOFA/Mass will be in attendance once again with microscopes in hand to scope your soil. John Duke and Ruben Parrilla have put together a presentation about the use of microscopes in agriculture and they have been talking to the other speakers about how they implement them in their work. Microbiometer will also be bringing their meters and partnering with NOFA to look at your soil!
For you commercial indoor growers you can not afford to miss Benjamin Acadia's talk on Sustainable Systems for Indoor Cultivation. Last year he gave a brilliant overview of facility management. This year he is diving deep and explaining how early design decisions dictate success or failure and how to avoid long term negative ramifications that require costly corrections. He will also be speaking in depth about environmental controls and their role in pathogen defense and crop steering. Be ready to get his info and step up your game because his knowledge runs very deep and he is a practiced natural farmer!
Kevin Jodrey will be joining us via zoom and will be giving an exclusive talk you do not want to miss!
We will be talking soil building, fermenting, sileage, rhizophagy, soil science, and all things farming and growing. Let's come together and share our knowledge and our experience and our passion!
